About

I’ll start out by telling you that this is the project that we’ve been calling, “Project Osprey.”

So, what are we doing? Well, that’s the question that Twitter asks, now isn’t it. Instead of answering that with “I’m washing my dog,” or “Drinking coffee that tastes really bad.” We decided that the best way to answer that question is with an action.

You’re cool, you have a lot of friends on Twitter. Good Job! Now what? Well, you can talk to them. Send them links to things on the interwebs, RickRoll them to death. But what if one of your friends is being especially jerkish to you. What do you do? Unfollow them? That’s pretty much your only option.

That is until now. Now you can hit them over the head with a giant 2×4. Or you can run them through with a pitchfork. Just follow @tweetfight and send a direct message to tweetfight that says attack @jerkface and we take care of pouring out your wrath upon them.

This is all still extremely alpha. We’ve only got a small handful of people that know about it, and even less that are playing. So, if you are wanting to play, just wait, we’re a few weeks out from a beta release. If you are interested, follow @tweetfight and we’ll send you a message when we are ready to add more people.

Here’s a quick rundown of game play;

How-to Play

send a direct message to @tweetfight

What you can send;

  • attack @username - this will fire off a fight between you and your friend
  • stats - this will give you your stats
  • stats @username - this will give you someone else’s stats
  • up ability x - where ability is either health, stamina, agility, or strength. This is based on ability points you recieve during game play. And ‘x’ is how many points you want to use to increase that item.
  • scores - this will return the current standings of the top 10 players

Rules

  • You need to be following @tweetfight and @tweetfight needs to be following you.
  • You can only fight someone that is also following and being followed by @tweetfight
  • If you win an attack against someone that has less than 90% of your score (more on scoring later), you get 0 points, but
  • If you win an attack against someone that has more that 110% of your score, you get 2 points.

If you have any questions, or, if you’d like to help out writing code, send an email to help@tweetfight.com.
